One Plus One is Greater Than Two

I love bringing people together. In high school I had parties where my theater friends would meet my honors English friends, we all went to the same school but they’d never met one another. I loved mixing it up + new friendships were formed.

I travel - I love meeting strangers who become friends. I’ve meet quite a few folks on airplanes who became long time friends and sometimes creative collaborators - shout to to Roma Downey, Brian Logan Dales and Jesse DeFlorio who I met today in BNA off a flight from LA - see you for sushi next week!

Knowing my love to connecting - I made it a point to bring it into my work -every workshop, presentation, gig I do is about sharing my experience and expertise and bringing the people in the room together for connection. So the artists gain insights and growth from me, and from one another. The foundation of friendships and creative collaborations start at a Parr Method event.

Two people in my last Compass incubator got married! I thought they’d click, oh yeah did they click! lol

The Artist’s Circle was created to build a support group meets networking group for creatives. A place for creatives to share experiences, grow together and build your team. Artists have written, recorded, preformed, started activists organizations together having met at the AC. I lead this at conferences and for companies creating a true relationship building experience.

So, when I work with Artists I want to know WHAT ARE YOU ABOUT? What passions do you have outside of music + let’s come up with ways you can bring them together!

Alex Wong has taken his love and talents for cooking and making music and his Permission Parties are listening / record release parties combining his music and food pairings and conversation - the guests meeting one another with activism. (check him out on IG! @alexwongsounds)

One artist I worked with was passionate about supporting sexual assault survivors and she was an amazing writer. We talked about using her blog and ability to write with compassion and humor about intense and traumatic subject matter to build an audience, share her music and provide resources to survivors of SA + DM. Making music videos that touched upon it + gave proceeds to a couple charities.

My favorite choreographer Akram Khan brings all his dance background into his work - Kathak, modern…. plus - music, animation, lighting, sometimes dialogue. It’s incredible and the most unique dance performances I’ve ever seen.

Combining your passions is an exponential way to build a fanbase, to thrive in your expertise, to share who you are in a way that is unique to you. To create community and motion. To curate a life you love.

Explore your passions and communities - what ideas are turning in your head right now? How can you bring your multiple passions and talents together to create an experience, event that brings your communities together and incorporates your music?

Share some ideas with me! Let’s brainstorm!
